Lauren Brown Hornor

Lauren is a Miami native. For the past four years she has been Executive Director and co-founder of the Fraser Riverkeeper (FRK) in British Columbia. Lauren also developed Waterkeeper’s Clean Water Act Defense program, which was designed to protect the Act from regulatory and Congressional rollback.

Lauren holds a bachelors degree in Environmental Studies and Geography from the University of Colorado at Boulder and graduated with honors from Pace University School of Law, receiving a Certificate in Environmental Law. While a member of the Pace Environmental Litigation Clinic, Lauren represented the Hudson Riverkeeper in various enforcement actions.

Dean Taha

Dean is partner at Taha Properties and is a co-founder of Ground Up, a collaborative platform for artists, musicians and activists.  Taha is also the Director of Development for the Miami-based non-profit (501c3), Rescue Earth.  A Miami native, Taha graduated from the University of Miami with honors in English Literature and Film.

Giselle Kovac

Giselle was born in Miami and raised on Biscayne Bay, learning how to swim, ski, and sail in its beautiful waters. She has spent the last 12 years living in Asheville, NC, and is delighted to return to the sun and fun in Miami.Giselle has a degree in Interior Architecture with a focus on sustainability and is a LEED AP. She works as a residential designer and artist, bringing an awareness of the environment to her work.  She spent years working as a Florida Licensed Midwife, and midwifery activist, spearheading the movement to legalize midwifery in North Carolina.

H Jordan Weitz

H Jordan Weitz is a native of South Florida.  H graduated from FSU with degrees in Accounting and Finance.  Since graduating, he has worked at Arthur Andersen, Southern Wine & Spirits, United Eldercare and has spent the last 10 years of his career with Carnival Corporation.  H specializes in process based audits with a focus on providing assurance over control design and operational effectiveness and identification of value-added opportunities.

H currently sits on the boards of the Dr. Jack Widrich Foundation (Vice-Chairman and Treasurer), Jewish National Fund (member at large) and the Overtown Music Project (Treasurer).  The environment is one of H’s primary philanthropic interests.
